Born in Shanghai, raised in the United States. Award winning film producer/Actress, host of the International Fashion Week, Fashion TV, culture columnist and successful entrepreneur. Ai Wan is one of China’s most talented and dynamic young creative personalities. Member of the American Screen Actor’s Union, and once selected by the MTV film fan's network as the most popular actress. Crowned both Miss Chinese International and Miss Talent. Once named world most exotic beauty by the American Playboy magazine. She was picked by Outlook design magazine as the most prominent member of the burgeoning creative class in China.
She believes that life and artistic creation must break free from traditional thought, and that creativity is based on the rediscovery and unleashing of self-knowledge. In 2005, she opened two studios, Epic Design and Epic Entertainment, in Beijing. At the end of 2006 she opened Beijing's most 'in' dance club, the ChinaDoll Club.It has received “the best new club of the year 2007 “ and best designed eight awards from City Weekend and That’s Beijing magazine. In May 2008, she opened ChinaDoll @3.3, it’s awarded as world top 18 design inspired club by The Black Book magazine in New York.
She wields social influence via her column 'Clubbing Culture' in the city edition of Modern Weekly (which it has received the most inferential publication award in China since 2005), where she uses her unique perspective to observe the current creative state of the most passionate, most avant-garde and most active people in music. She published a hot-selling collection of cutting-edge essays titled Let's Do Lunch with a group of famous artists, the book has stayed on the top of the best selling chart in China in 2005-2006.
She is the co- producer for Li Ying's documentary film ”Yasukuni ”. It is the official selection for Berlin film festival in Feb 2008. The film has won “the best documentary film of the year with humanitarian award” in HongKong film festival in April 2008.
